One of the ‘silver linings’ of the lockdowns were that most of the sacred sites and energy portals in the world could get a rest, and sift away all the ‘heavy energetics’ left behind by tourist hordes and well-meaning ‘spiritual seekers’.
I’ve written about this topic before — Bali is a good example of the consequence of ‘emotional dumping’ by people who go there and ‘leave all their baggage behind’ — contaminating the energy of the land and place.
Basically ‘emotional dumping’ or ‘energetic dumping’ occurs when people go to a high vibrational place or sacred site and OFFLOAD all their trauma, wounds, and energetic rubbish onto the place. And then they leave, expecting perhaps the next group to clean-up after them — or absorb that residue energy.
Fun fact: this is why many people have the urge to weep, sigh, or ’shout’ when they go to these places. Newsflash: You are not ‘touched by the energy’ — you are experiencing a clearing.
Because that is what high vibration does to low vibration. The Law of Attunement. Yes dear, sorry to burst your bubble, you are the low vibration.
Thankfully, any properly trained energyworker or spiritual practitioner worth their salt knows that all major purification should be done BEFORE embarking to high vibrational places or portals. I mean, imagine a friend visiting your home and taking a dump in your bedroom and then just leaving.
Energetically it’s the same.
Admittedly, sometimes one or two students in my group experience a major clearing and goes into ‘emotional dumping’ unexpectedly — so the onus is on me, the Teacher and spiritual facilitator, to do the clean-ups and transmutations after our visit, before we leave.
We say, “My Body is a Temple.”
Conversely: “A Temple is also my Body”
Any truly grounded person with a healthy relationship with their Body, naturally becomes conscientious and aware about their surroundings — what more in sacred sites?
Yes, one might argue that most sacred sites, natural or man made, have the ability to gradually transmute itself. True, but that takes time. And judging by the sheer number of tourists and ignorant seekers… the sewage gets clogged too quickly.
Spiritual maturity also means taking responsibility for the energy/emotions we send-out to the world. Think about the next person or group visiting the same place after you.
Oh you don’t really care? The world is an unfair place anyway?
Perhaps then, some immediate wounds and inner shadow require tending. Pilgrimages or sacred journeys may not always be the answer, nor is it a place for one to ‘escape’ into.
Bringing a baboon into a temple does not make it Thoth.
Eat Pray Love — by all means. But please clean-up your shyte before you go. Better yet:
