Horus Full Moon

Shraavan Supermoon

Like those who come to me, I too, am constantly learning and relearning ways of receiving and offering my work. After all, it’s been 13 years of doing Moon Circles…

To honor the shakti within me means learning to truly honor the ebb and flow of my own energies. To listen. To abide. To trust. For everyone it is different — thus, learning also to heal the self-shaming that comes from being different, and functioning differently from what society and ancestry has shown us.

What hasn’t changed? I am still awed by the new faces that find their way to me, somehow. And then, I am humbled by those students who still journey with me after years, and witnessing their growth, their blossoming — sometimes even their wintering, preparing for an inner death and rebirth.

Life is a series of seasons: of seeding and waiting; of blooming and flowering; of trusting and clearing; of stillness and reflecting.

13 is the number of Death, before the rebirthing. The easy way is to throw in more bells and whistles. Dazzle with more superfluous theatrics. Maya upon maya.

The hard path is that of truth, of depth, of honesty and spiritual integrity. The hard part is the breaking down, the surrender, the allowing of things to unfold while the ego-mind SCREAMS in violent protest.

We cannot be guided if we want to remain in total control. We cannot co-create when we are fearful or stubborn. We cannot greet the Goddess and seek Her blessings when we act as if we already knew everything.

Every circle is an offering to the Goddess, to Devi, to Shakti. Mother Universe. She dictates. She gives us signs. We, my dear friends and I, deliver.

Blessed Full Moon. Om Shrim Om.
