JUPITER ENTERS TAURUS (VRISHABHA)
3 common question I get from my students and clients often, regarding work and money:
“Can I achieve my Artha, my worldly goals, without cheating or manipulating others?”
The answer: Yes. But you are going to have to make harder and tougher choices, using your wisdom and spiritual awareness. By making more conscious choices, you create more positive karma (consequences as a manifested reality) for yourself (and your loved ones)
“But everyone else is doing it, cheating a little here and there, wouldn’t it be silly if I didn’t?”
The answer: Do you want to be just like everyone else, even when you know you can do better? If so, what is the motivation behind that?
When you say Yes to others — automatically it’s a No to yourself. Think about it.
“I have no choice but to cheat others, as i have to do this to support my children and family.”
We always get to choose HOW we do something, and while yes, sometimes we make less-than-ideal choices in order to survive, but with some self-awareness, we can strive to make better choices as we learn and grow.
Consider the karmic impact of those in our care as well. We teach by example, consciously or unconsciously. Nothing goes unnoticed.
All lineage wounds and unconscious patterning are formed when we constantly repeat an unhealthy action again and again, without awareness. When it comes to energy, whether what we put out or what we take in — there is always an exchange, and there is always a cost.
All wealth originates from within the earth: the soil germinates vegetation and food; precious metals and gemstones are born deep within the earth.
So too, Lakshmi, the personification of abundance, was originally the daughter of the earth. When the devas wanted Lakshmi all for themselves and she refused, Indra together with Surya, Agni, and Vayu, used their might of lightning, sun, fire, and wind to break open the earth.
Seeing the destruction, Lakshmi relented and became Indra’s queen. The heavenly realms flourished with her blessings of abundance, plentitude, and all worldly pleasures imaginable. But soon enough, all the fine food and wine brought forth indulgence and laziness. Sattvic awareness waned; Rajas soon made way for Tamas, and ignorance set in.
Mistrust followed. And everything began to fall apart.
Alakshmi always follows Lakshmi. She is Jyeshta, the elder and often-forgotten sister. Lakshmi leaves a place when it is filled with Tamas (ignorance, inertia) and Alakshmi — personification of greed, fear, hoarding, suspicion, and illness — takes the place of Lakshmi.
And where did Lakshmi disappear to? Let me tell you.
She rolled her eyes and turned into sea foam to merge back into the great ocean in order to restore herself. After all, she gave the devas everything but they lacked the wisdom to sustain her blessings.
This would eventually set the scene for the Samudra Manthan, the Great Churning of the Ocean, and story known by many, yet inadequately understood.
Starting today, Guru (Jupiter) enters the rashi of Vrishabha (Taurus), the bountiful energies of the earth. For the coming 12 months, bless us with true awareness and understanding of abundance and spiritual prosperity.
May we no longer need to barter our integrity and truth for money, out of the fear that we may lack or miss-out. May we discovery the healing power, sacredness, and beauty of our physical body, which is a spiritual mirror of the earth that contains all manner of life, precious metals, and gemstones.
And may my love for Devi warm your hearts enough to see that there is always a choice, and always another way.
Om Shrim Maha Lakshmiye Namah.
