What Anchors You?

This question was posed to us today.

What brings you back to your center, returning you closer to calm and clarity?
What inspires you to bring nourishment and strength back into your own cup?
The catch? It cannot be somebody else. Or addictive substances
For spiritual initiates, we are given sadhana or ‘spiritual practice’. Sometimes one who is adept creates this for themselves. It could include kriyas, mudras, asanas, mantras, or devotion to a specified deity. Additional rituals may include gemstones, essential oils, herbs, incense, or even the elements themselves.
On a more mundane — no less important — level, it could be proper nutrition and foods, exercise and stretches, breathing practices, or being in nature or other conducive spaces.
As we prepare for the new year, perhaps it is time to rediscover, or redefine, our spiritual anchor.
As I take one last look at the lessons and gifts of 2022, I hold the intention and prayer that the new year shapes a new me: wiser, stronger, more compassionate, less fixated on things, and a more opened heart.
O Hanuman, anchored in his wisdom heart of Sita Ram , filled with faith and devotion to move mountains and uncover the secret herb of life… bless me.
Bless us and watch over us. Remind us when we have forgotten, when ego overruns our words, when fear clouds our minds, or when anger seeps into our actions.
Remind us kindly and swiftly, O Son of Vayu.
Om Ham Hanumate Namah
Grant us power over ignorance, mastery of the 5 Winds, and compassion to fill our Hearts.
