A Long Journey

It’s been a long journey. And I’m just halfway to where I wanna be. But that’s fine, I now know how to enjoy the grind.
Rediscovering and reclaiming my health and physical well-being. Getting to know my body more intimately. Utterly shocked when out of the blue, a few years back, my body suddenly told me: let’s dance.
Who knew?
One thing I noticed over the years, you might find this interesting:
I received the most positive feedback, encouragement, and motivation from the random gym bro and gym sis online. Perhaps, they get it. They respect the hustle and the importance of showing up. I never once got ridiculed for my small muscles or ‘easy workout’.
(As a person who likes to get things done chop chop… my progress has been super slow and tedious to me!)
The ridicule and snide remarks always came from people who don’t look the fittest themselves. I know, ironic, right?
What I want to illustrate to you is this:
Do you take feedback from the wrong people?
Do you expect positive response from people who don’t get it?
Are you looking at a platypus to learn how to climb a tree?
(Promptly googles to make sure they can’t lol)
You get the point, right?
Check your sources. Be smart. Know the strengths and limitations of those you seek advice from. Not everyone is aligned with your journey. Not everyone has gone through something similar. Not everyone is fit to give feedback.
But many think they are!
And most of all: not everyone really gives a sh*T about your well-being. Despite what they appear to be.
知己知彼 百戰不殆
At the end of the day, get to know who YOU are. What you want; what you don’t want. As we become more honest and more aware of who we are, everything becomes clearer and clearer.
Wishing you clear skies ahead, my beautifuls.
